| Job Description: | The Opportunity: Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a Process Engineer - 2nd Shift to join a dynamic team that provides support to accomplish corporate product quality and reliability objectives. The ideal candidate will be able to assist management to specify, evaluate, recommend and conduct acceptance tests on electronic assembly process equipment and materials, as well as train manufacturing staff in assembly processes. The duties include: writing and conducting experiments; developing process controls using statistical methods such as Statistical Process Control(SPC), and Process Capability(Cpk) on Surface Mount Technology(SMT), Plated Through Hole(PTH) and box build processes. If you have a proven history of leadership in developing manufacturing processes in a team oriented organization, and you are a senior level professional who expects the best, we invite you to consider joining our industry leading technical team. Process Engineer Responsibilities: *Develop, document, implement and sustain assembly processes. *Improve yield, efficiency and capacity of processes in accordance with strategic objectives. *Develop and/or conduct Design of Experiments. *Evaluate new products for manufacturing compatibility per established DFM guidelines. *Assist management to specify, evaluate, recommend, and conduct acceptance tests on assembly process equipment. *Train manufacturing staff in assembly processes. *Follow and improve Process Engineering processes. Qualifications: *B.S. in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience *Two years experience in surface mount and through-hole technology process development, documentation, maintenance, and improvement in an electronics manufacturing company *Familiarity with IPC, JEDEC, and Belcore industry standards *Knowledge of statistics as applied to process capability measurements *Excellent speaking and writing skills; ability to train production staff *Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment *Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities Preferred Qualifications: *Thorough understanding of the materials used in the PCBA process *Ability to lead a team *Project management skills |
