| Job Description: | Job Title: Field Application Engineer Reports To: Technical Director Americas Department: US Field Sales Compensation: Salary Based on experience Plus annual performance bonus; Comprehensive Benefits Summary: The Field Application Engineer is responsible for creating robust design and engineering solutions for proprietary mission critical software customers worldwide. This work will be characterized by safe, efficient, transparent designs and engineering assistance that can sustain critical reviews of the most stringent safety standards in the world. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. ? Consults as required at customer sites with tact and professionalism. ? Delivers safe, viable and robust software product solutions to customers. ? Works closely with the customers to define projects and designs, along with identifying areas to be improved in the customer?s software or hardware processes. ? Works closely with the customers to handle certification issues related to using the software products. ? Teams with field sales representatives to insure that sufficient company engineering resources are deployed at the customer site to create an on time, quality product deliverable. ? Develops strong relationships with key customer personnel at all levels. ? Coordinates the effective utilization of company resources, including design engineers, business development, marketing, support services, and executive team members. ? Builds strong relationships with partner and OEM firms, and effectively leverages their resources in deploying engineering results at customer sites. ? Is an integral player in building strong, cohesive company and customer teams capable of successfully completing complex safety-critical projects. ? Travels as needed. Qualifications: Education/Experience/Abilities: General requirements include: ? Bachelor?s Degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field from four-year college or university. ? Minimum of 2/5 years experience in creating and delivering hardware and/or software products in the mission-critical and safety-critical product space. ? Strong familiarity with model-based design technology, including hardware, software, and prototyping solutions. Knowledge of SCADE, Matlab, Simulink, Statemate, MATRIXx and/or competitive products strongly preferred. ? Strong familiarity with the avionics, aerospace, automotive, nuclear or transportation industry. Work with leading companies in these fields, including Airbus, Boeing, BAE Systems, Bell Helicopter, BMW, Daimler Chrysler, EADS, Elbit, Ford, General Motors, Honeywell, Lockheed Martin, Rockwell Collins, UTC and Thales preferred. ? Must know the C language. Familiarity with C++ and Ada is a plus. ? Must be familiar with delivering software complying with international safety standards such as RTCA DO-178B, EUROCAE ED-12B, Def Std. 0055, IEC 61508, EN 50128, FDA 510(k), and 2167A.
