| Job Description: | The Dominion Generation business unit is seeking a highly-motivated engineer to support the day-to-day operation of the Virginia City Hybrid Energy Center. Virginia City Hybrid Energy Center is a new coal and wood waste-fired power plant in the Southwest Virginia coal region, with a net generating capacity of approximately 585 MW. The Virginia City site is located near St. Paul, Virginia. The facility is currently under construction and has a commercial operation date of July 17, 2012. The successful candidate will provide engineering support for a conventional steam generating facility consisting of two sub-critical, single reheat Circulating Fluidized Bed boilers with an SNCR and an air quality control system, one reheat condensing steam turbine, and an air-cooled condenser. Duties and responsibilities include: 1) Developing and executing engineering design packages; 2) Applying engineering principles, fundamental concepts and practices to solve day-to-day production issues; 3) Serving as a contract coordinator for outages and projects; 4) Overseeing document control and configuration management processes; 5) Providing engineering and economic evaluations for projects; 6) Providing input to operating and capital budgets; 7) Performing root cause failure analysis; 8) Performing data collection for required station reporting; 9) Performing other duties as requested or assigned. During the construction and commissioning phase of the project, the incumbent will be working on an integrated team responsible for the development and delivery of operator training material. |
